Glas Italia for “Villa Firenze Contemporanea”

The “Villa Firenze Contemporanea” project kicked off on Thursday 19th of  October in Washington DC, in the presence of selected members of the American and Italian-American cultural, media and economic community.

A cultural promotion initiative taking its name from the Residence of the Italian Ambassadors in Washington and inspired by the projects "Quirinale Contemporaneo” at Palazzo del Quirinale and "Collezione Farnesina" of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The curator – Arch. Prof.ssa Renata Cristina Mazzantini - has selected over fifty art and design works from the Fifties until today, all of them representing the Italian creativity and elegance, setting them up in the Tudor style architecture of Villa Firenze and choosing for the furnishings also the CALICE coffee tables by Glas Italia, designed by Piero Lissoni and made on this occasion in a special gold finish.

Villa Firenze Contemporanea is a very high profile showcase for artists, designers and companies, aiming to enhance the art and excellence of the Made in Italy design, reinforcing their role in the important American market.

The installation is presented in a catalogue released by Treccani with photos by Massimo Listri.
